FAQs

What is PyckMee?

PyckMee is a social ride-share platform at its core; we are building a rideshare community for college students. Here at PyckMee, we match drivers who will like to reduce the cost of their trips to prospective riders who need to catch a ride.

Do I need a school email to log in?

Yes. In order to grow as a college-based community, we ask that you sign up with your school email; we also use this as part of our verification process.

Why isn’t my school on the list?

For our initial launch, we selected schools which we believed will be good test hubs. If your school isn’t there at the moment, it’s nothing to worry about. As we continuously expand our services, we are working on having it rolled out to as many schools as possible; we promise we’re not leaving you out of the fun.

When I give a ride, when do I get paid?

We know how awkward it is asking friends for gas money when you share rides with them. To solve this, we have partnered with Stripe, to run a seamless process where you get paid as soon as the ride is done.

How do I get charged for my rides?

As this is a carpool service, we believe you should only pay for the miles you use. Our algorithm calculates how much you pay while factoring in maintenance, gas and other variable costs.

How do I list a ride?

Just below the screen to the right is a little plus sign, there, you can choose what role you want to play (rider or passenger). Then tell us where you are, where you’re going, how many seats you have available or how many seats you need and automatically, you’re listing goes live.

What happens in an accident, how do I report it?

Drivers who list rides on PyckMee are required to be covered by auto insurance in accordance with the respective State Law. We will not be responsible for any insurance claims as they relate to accidents. If you’re ever in an accident, (We trust our members to be very safe, but we know things happen sometimes), please report the accident as you normally would if you were driving alone.

What happens if I don’t find a ride?

At our early stages, as we grow as a community, we understand that sometimes it’ll be difficult to find rides or riders due to the small user base. If this happens, we ask that as your trip gets closer, you proceed as you usually would. However, we are confident that as we continue to grow as a community, the options will be many, and you’d become spoilt for choice.

Am I obliged to take anyone who requests a ride?

No, you’re not. The final decision on whom you ride with or who rides with you lies solely on you. You have the right to look through the history of the person making the request and determine whom you want to ride with. Also, The beauty of social rideshare is you’re not rated the traditional way. You can look through a person's feed as you would any other social media platforms.

Please note that pyckMee will never mandate you to do trip you’re not comfortable with.

Can I bring someone who didn’t request for a seat?

Remember PyckMee is based solely on the consent of all parties. We also understand that sometimes, one friend will request rides for the others. We’ve made provision for that. When requesting a ride, you can indicate how many seats you want depending on what is available. Drivers are allowed to refuse to take riders that were not planned for.

Remember it’s our community, how we leave it is how we find it.

Thank you for joining our community, let’s get to know each other better.
